Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was on the other side of the homeland security policies his administration helped to create today when he was held up and patted down at the airport after setting off the metal detectors on his way to board a flight.

"It takes those of us with two titanium hips and a titanium shoulder a bit longer to get through TSA," Rumsfeld posted on his Twitter feed earlier this afternoon.

He even linked to TMZ, which broke the story and posted the pictures of Rummy getting the full treatment by TSA officials at Chicago's O'Hare Airport. Rumsfeld took it all in good stride and was recognized by several uniformed soldiers passing through the terminal, TMZ reported.

Rumsfeld was in Chicago to attend a panel and luncheon hosted by the Heritage Foundation and was on the way to Grand Rapids, MI to attend the funeral of Betty Ford, whom he called "one of America's most beloved first ladies."

Yet another example of why the TSA should be disbanded.....Lets see here, we need to be protected from the former SECDEF, but Ahmed the ragman gets a free pass lest we offend him.

No it is example of how the TSO did their job! What is pathetic about all those who defame and verbally assault the TSO,s is their lack of knowledge! You mentally challenged individuals should know this.....Its not if but when it will happen and when it does, you will blame the TSO's!!! BTW, check and see WHO is responsible for Airport security for the most part...it is not the TSA!!!

The TSA doing their job?

The TSA doing their job? Where in the constitution do they "assume the position" of supreme safety officials? Providing for the common defense has NOTHING to do with providing a sense of security for the travelling public. The screening process is a joke. Radiating the travelling public, demeaning the individual, and traumatizing children is safety? Anyone can get on a plane in Africa and have ZERO preflight inspections nor do they have to be sexually assaulted but we say nothing about those locations. The vast majority of travelers commute in their own personal vehicles which the TSA has no control over and can do markedly more damage then even the heaviest aircraft; because in a vehicle, the operator can destroy lives without taking his own, and continue doing so indefinitely theoretically. An aircraft is a one shot deal... When We the SHEEPLE of the United States wake up and realize that these TSA officers are being trained and used against us, we will begin to retake our country. Whatever happened to personal responsibility and individual liberty? Let me answer my own question with a statement from someone all real American patriots have been taught to respect and honor...

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. - Benjamin Franklin February 17, 1775

TSA Patdown

NO. It's an example of the government blowing smoke by sending a highly recognized government face through a airport check point so they can say "See EVERYONE gets the same treatment. Even Donny R." So the next time they feel up a little kid or smell grandma's depends for explosives they can refer everyone to the Rumsfeld's orchestrated incident. Wake up already. You really think Rumfseld goes through check points? If you do, you already have no hope. American fool.

National Security Threat?

Hmm, let's see....
Unable of protecting the US from its worst terrorist attack.
Unable to capture a 7 foot tall man suffering from kidney failure after 5+ years and hundreds of billions of dollars in man, machines, and technology.
After being unable to verify existence of Iraqi WMD's, partially responsible for an unnecessary war that will eventually cost in excess 1 trillion of our tax dollars.
Prosecuted same war costing the deaths of more US soldiers than died on 9/11, while also playing a part in the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi's.

National security threat? I'd say the TSA shouldn't have let this one through.

Peace be with you.

Well, at least the airport is not letting someone who caused the U.S. to go deep into debt through. Wonder what they were really looking for. Since Obama has already gotten the man Rumsfeld and Bush were suppose to be going after, it couldn't be bin Laden in his clothing.

FANCYRED do you really feel Obama should get any credit for bin Laden death? Give me a break what are you 4 years old? Do you think he changed the operations orders of any of the teams searching for him? Don't give that fool any credit for squat...the military and CIA have been on this case for a long time and their hands were cuffed by treaties and incompetent governments getting in the way. Most of the governments we had to work with are as corrupt as the ones we over threw..The Seal team did it very well and took their time...had nothing to do with who happened to be in the white house. He doesn’t have a clue and couldn't tell the butt end from the stock of an assault weapon!!

Lonnie, I think you would have a different opinion if you read (former head of the CIA Bin Laden Unit) Michael Scheuer's book on the hunt for Osama and see how incompetent the pursuit during the Bush years was.
Also, one doesn't have to know all the parts of an assault weapon in order to make strategic decisions.

Who can NOT be trusted: the former Secretary of Defense (with access to this nation's most secret secrets) and Chief of Staff of the White House.

Who CAN be waived through: the 18 year old muslim kid from Yemen praying to Allah just before the flight! WAIVE HIM THROUGH! NOTHING TO SEE HERE! ISLAM GOOD. PROFILING BAD. (Republi-thugs & tea partiers evil!)

It boggles the mind. The caller to Dennis Miller's radio show had it right a couple of months ago. His epiphany, finally: "We're being led by fools and knaves!"

How's that hope & change working for you America? Way to go Independents & Democrats! You were so smart ... proving how noble you were, that you weren't a racist, voting for a black man. Next November, prove you're not the village idiot and vote the Manchurian President & his communist lackeys out of office.

TSA

I need somebody to point out to me where in the fourth amendment to our constitution it says "except if you want to fly on an airplane." Quite the contrary it very clearly states "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated" examining a person naked or patting down the crotch of anybody in my book is an unreasonable search.

Certainly it is ok if the AIRLINES do these searches. Then it is up to me if I want to fly on an airline who is safer or not; who charges more for the insurance it would need to carry or less because they are feeling people up. It would be up to me. Perhaps I would want to fly on an airline that has no security procedure but has armed guards on all flights, again my liberty to choose, but the government HAS NO RIGHT to do this to us.

BTW, Where are all those people who were running up and down the country protesting "The Patriot Act?" I remember they were worried about the government intruding on what they were reading in the Library. They were worried about their privacy when they called out of the country to known terrorist, they were worried that the government was able to tap all their phones with the one authorization of the court. All of that needed to be protested, but now that the government is sticking their hands in your pants (and there is a democrat in the whitehouse) it is all ok, and if you don't like having your rights abused then just don't fly. Why didn't they say "if you don't like it, then just don't go to the library" or "if you don't like it, then just don't use a phone, you have no right to use a phone, it is a privlege?"

Is the TSA stopping everyone?

News Flash!

Sarah Palin is a spy. Everything about her is a compete fabrication. She was planted as McCain’s running mate to flush out those who are a part of the “New World Order.” This group consists of CEOs, wealthy elitists, and a collection of corrupt politicians with the goal of overthrowing the US government.

Obama, much like Osama, appears to be nothing more than a spokesperson for this group. Osama Obama, Biden Bin Laden, it’s a code. The feds are trying everything to contain this from leaking out. Whether you believe this or not it is honest to God’s truth. The military is using Obama as their puppet. This is also the reason why all the CEOs who ran in the last midterm didn’t get elected.

The majority of the media has been taken over by the feds in an effort to suppress this. Want proof? Didn’t you find it a bit odd that we caught Bin Laden 3 days after Trump, of all people, got Obama to release his birth certificate? Did you actually look at his birth certificate? After 3 or 4 days covering the death of Osama, a completely manufactured lie, the media moved onto 3 weeks of Anthony Weiner’s weener coverage. The Pentagon is not only controlling the news stories, they are also controlling the commenting. 90% of the comments you’re reading are manufactured garbage. This is what your tax dollars are paying for.

If you want the real story about what’s gong on in America then by all means read and share the following story before our democracy ceases to exist. The future of our country is in your hands. Are you going to do anything about it?

All this entails is the elite getting scared because Americans are finally fighting back and they had Rumsfeld go through security to make it look like they are doing this to everyone even the people in power. Its a smoke screen and it seems the majority on here commenting fell for it. Do you honestly believe he has to do this if he doesnt want to. Its a freaking joke and their lies are so in our faces now that its as if they are mocking us. Judging by the intelligence level of most Americans these days I dont blame them. Unfortunately for the elitists their time is up and there isnt much more they can do about it now. They are like cockroaches when you turn the lights on they are running scared and its about freaking time.

Rumsfeld gets stopped by TSA at airport

I have to admit, at a local level, the security people seem to have at least half a brain.

As a senior who rarely has cause to visit government buildings, I entered one the other day carrying a bag with a stun gun, an athame (ritual knife), and a cigarette lighter, and blithely placed it on the scanner.

Of course I was pulled to the side. I apologized profusely, and told them I would take the bag to my car and return. No problem. The only dicey part was that I had to take the stun gun away from one of the security guys who was playing with it in a crowded area.

I look like what I am -- a red, white, and tori black who, while slightly distracted, would die ripping the balls off a terrorist if the occasion arose. In my neck of the woods, at least, security people can apparently recognize that.
