Hawaii's Daniel Inouye does not mince words. He's the kind of senator who won't volunteer his opinions, but if you ask him a direct question, he'll give it to you straight.

The Cable caught up with Inouye Tuesday in the halls of the Capitol and asked for his opinion on whether the Obama administration should put North Korea back on its list of state sponsors of terrorism, as some in Washington are advocating in response to the March sinking of a South Korea ship, the Cheonan.

Inouye thought about it for a second, looked up, and declared: "Whether they are on the list or not, they are a bunch of terrorists."

Well played, senator.
