Kaguyutan joins House Foreign Affairs

Over at the House Foreign Affairs Committee, more changes in the professional staff, with Janice Kaguyutan joining as Deputy Chief Counsel last week. She replaces Kristin Wells, who is beginning a partnership at the prestigious law firm of Patton Boggs.

Kaguyutan was senior counsel for the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy on the Judiciary and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) committees from 2002 until his passing. Previously she worked as an attorney for the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund.

The committee is still searching for a replacement for the position of Chief Counsel, after David Abramowitz left earlier this month to head up the Washington office of Humanity United, a non-governmental organization based in Silicon Valley.
