Hi, I'm Josh Rogin, FP's new staff reporter and the new host of The Cable. I'm looking forward to building on Laura Rozen's strong foundation and giving you the inside scoop on what's going on in the world of Washington foreign policy and national security.

Previously, I covered defense and foreign policy as a staff writer for Congressional Quarterly, working on Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantánamo Bay, U.S.-Asia relations, defense budget battles and appropriations, and the defense lobbying and contracting industries. Before that, I covered military modernization, cyber warfare, space, and missile defense for Federal Computer Week. I've also covered the Pentagon beat in Washington for the Asahi Shimbun, Japan's leading daily newspaper, reporting on U.S.-Japan relations, Chinese military modernization, the North Korean nuclear crisis, and more.

A graduate of George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, I've lived in Yokohama, Japan, and studied at Tokyo's Sophia University. I speak conversational Japanese and have reported from the region. I've also worked at the House International Relations Committee, the Embassy of Japan, and the Brookings Institution. I grew up in Philadelphia (go Eagles!).

I've got good stuff headed your way, but tips, comments, and insights are always welcome. Please hit me up any time at josh.rogin@foreignpolicy.com.
