The whole world knows about Barack Obama and family's vacation on Martha's Vineyard. But where is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton? Her official schedule has indicated no public appointments the past few days.
When Hurricane Bill was lapping at the coast of Bermuda last weekend, news reports indicated that Clinton and former President Bill Clinton were due to head to the island for a few days' holiday.
But where is she this week?
Her undisclosed location came up at a State Department press briefing yesterday, and spokesman Ian Kelly wouldn't say:
QUESTION: Where is the Secretary today?
MR. KELLY: The Secretary is - she's out of the office.
QUESTION: But where is she? Where - where is she exactly?
MR. KELLY: Well, her particular vacation plans are not something that we want to - that's - it's not a news story.
QUESTION: Oh, okay. And is she going to attend the ceremony? [Ted Kennedy's funeral service].
But Clinton's location is no mystery, The Cable was told by an official. She is currently at her home in Chappaqua, New York.
With Obama's vacation getting all the media attention, maybe the former first lady is enjoying the benefits of being able to unwind a bit off the media radar.
(As for the earlier rumors that daughter Chelsea was due to get married this summer at the Vineyard, Clinton told The Cable in July that they aren't true and they had tried numerous times to kill the rumors and finally given up.)
