The White House announced more ambassador nominations:

  • William Eacho, CEO of the Carlton Capital Group, as ambassador to Austria
  • Judith G. Garber, a career Foreign Service Officer currently serving as DAS for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, as ambassador to Latvia
  • David Killion, a Senior Professional Staff member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, as ambassador to UNESCO
  • James Knight, a senior Foreign Service Officer currently serving as director of the State Department's Office of East African Affairs, as ambassador to the Republic of Benin 
  • Karen Kornbluh, former policy director in then-Senator Obama's Senate office, as permanent representative to the OECD
  • Bruce Oreck, a former partner in the New Orleans law firm of Liskow & Lewis, as ambassador to Finland 
  • Charles A. Ray, a career member of the Foreign Service who has served as the DASD for Prisoners of War/Missing Personnel Affairs, as ambassador to Zimbabwe
  • David Thorne, co-founder of Adviser Investments, specializing in Vanguard and Fidelity mutual funds and former publisher of The Rome Daily Americana, as ambassador to Italy
